Glass of Mama’s London Broil

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb london broil

  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 Tbsp steak seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce

  • ⅓ cup avocado oil

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

Yields 6-8 servings

Prep Time: 5 minutes, plus 4-24 hours for marination

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Note: this can easily be substituted with cuts like flank, skirt, or even tri-tip.

Start by making your marinade: combine all the ingredients except the kosher salt, and pour over the steaks. Let this marinate anywhere from 4 to 24 hours. The marinade will flavor and tenderize the meat, so remember that the longer it sits the better it gets.

When you’re ready to grill, remove the steaks 30 minutes prior to cooking to allow them to come to room temp. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high and make sure it is appropriately greased or rubbed down. Cook the steaks for two minutes, then slightly rotate for cross marks. After four minutes total, flip and repeat this process. For cuts thicker than an inch, add an extra minute to each rotation and flip. Remove from the grill and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. 

With a sharp knife, slice the meat thinly against the grain. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
