Mozzarella Sticks

 

Ingredients:

  • 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks

  • 1 cup Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Baking Flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup gluten free breadcrumbs

  • 2 tsp kosher salt

  • Oil for frying


Place the string cheese in the freezer for at least two hours before frying. This is crucial and cannot be skipped. 


Preheat your oil of choice to 350F. Have three separate dishes ready and neat. In the first dish, add our Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Baking Flour. In the second dish, crack and beat two large eggs. In our last dish, measure your favorite gluten free breadcrumbs. Season each dish with the kosher salt.


When the string cheese is nice and cold, begin a classic dredging process: flour, egg, and then breadcrumbs. If you’re worried the cheese isn’t cold enough, place them back in the freezer for a few minutes before frying.


One to two at a time, carefully place them in the oil and cook 2-3 minutes until golden brown. They tend to stick together if the pot is overcrowded. Carefully take them out of the oil, hit with a last sprinkle of kosher salt, and serve hot!
